Recommended first read
Start with The Blacktongue Thief. Macmillan identifies it as volume one and describes it as the book that begins the series.
Where the prequel fits
Read The Daughters' War second in publication order. It takes place before The Blacktongue Thief and follows Galva during the Third Goblin War, but the publisher does not assign it a numbered volume.
The next numbered volume
The Thrice-Bound Fool is numbered volume two and returns to Kinch and Galva after The Blacktongue Thief. Its US hardcover is scheduled for October 13, 2026. Checked September 7, 2026.
